We are excited to announce our official collaboration with the Cincinnati-based lifestyle brand Ohio Against the World!
On Thursday, Gene Smith announced that The 1870 Society will be the premier NIL collective for the Ohio State football program.
Change in the NIL landscape is inevitable. The recent news regarding how the IRS views non-profit Collectives is the latest addition to a series of new regulations that we expect will disrupt how Collectives are operated. At The 1870 Society, we anticipated these changes and structured our organization as an LLC from the start.
We are thrilled to introduce you to The 1870 Society, the first for-profit collective established to support Ohio State student-athletes navigating the new world of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities. The Society is named after the founding year of The Ohio State University, highlighting our dedication to upholding the traditions and values that make Ohio State a world-class institution.
Our mission is simple: to give Buckeye Nation unprecedented, exclusive access to their favorite teams while creating the kind of earning potential and opportunities that Ohio State athletes deserve and have earned.
There's one perk, however, that has us really excited, and every member, regardless membership level, will have access to this perk: The Ryan Day Podcast, exclusively here at The 1870 Society.
The 1870 Society is proud to announce the hiring of Buckeye alum and Ohio native Todd Markiewicz as its new President.
As President of the NIL Collective, Markiewicz will work to drive fans and Ohio businesses to donate and partner with Ohio State student-athletes to bring a more competitive edge in the NIL space.
