Field Hockey

The 1870 Society is proud to sponsor Ohio State University Athletics and support the Field Hockey program in the first for-profit Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) collective supporting Ohio State athletes. The organization was founded by a group of passionate, and experienced operators who are committed to helping Ohio State student-athletes navigate this complex and evolving world of NIL.

The Field Hockey program is one of the longest-running sports at Ohio State. Fall 2024 will be its 54th season as a varsity sport.

As one of the premier programs in the country and competing in the Big Ten, the premier field hockey conference in the nation, Ohio State is a staple in the college rankings and has shown its success over the years with four Big Ten titles and one Final Four appearance.

The program counts 26 All-Americans and nine inductees into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame.

Last season, the Buckeyes finished No. 12 nationally with wins over No. 1 Iowa, No. 8 Michigan, and No. 14 Penn State on the way to a 14–6 record. The win total was the most for the program in 14 years.

Jarred Martin, Head Coach

“To be at a place like Ohio State – the best university in the country – only happens because of the people and the fans that make that possible. As a coach, I get to work with the top student-athletes from all over the world, and the loyal fan base is second to none. In the ever changing landscape of NCAA athletics, we are always striving to stay at the top, and that is becoming more and more dependent on the support from people like you. My mission is to give every woman within this program a championship atmosphere that gives them the tools to succeed on and off the field. Thank you for all you do, and all you continue to do for Ohio State, the athletic department and the women's sports teams here.”
